Home is Where One Starts…

Client: Personal project          Duties: Everything          Tools Used: Unity, Maya, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.

This game was a personal project inspired by my love for John Steinbeck novels and first-person exploration games like Dear Esther or Gone Home. It started as a way for me to learn Unity and improve my Maya skills, but it eventually led to a distribution deal with one of the largest digital marketplaces in the world, Steam. I also used it to learn the ins and outs of Oculus Rift development, which the experience lends itself to nicely. Publications like Engadget and Comic Gaming Magazine have interviewed me about this game, and it has received very positive reviews from several other websites. I’m ecstatic the reception has been so positive, but mostly I’m happy I was able to force myself to follow through with this project and launch successfully after two years of hard work.
